"Neurology no diagnosis"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Neurology

(as the patient),

I have a degenerative progressive neurological problem that first started about 6 years ago. Despite numerous tests the neurologists have been unable to make a diagnosis due to my symptoms being atypical. Latest neurologist said within 5 minutes of first appointment that it was migraine and gave me more medication to take, then said he didn't need to see me any more. Illness continued to progress and GP referred myself back to neurologist. This time I was told it must be function and was sent to see neuropsychiatry that said its organic and would send a report back to neurologist. That was in November and I am still waiting for neurologist to follow up

Dear Billya1003

Thank you for getting in touch with us through Patient Opinion.

I was so sorry to read that you have to cope with this degenerative progressive neurological problem, it must be very hard for you, especially when you are now having to wait on the results of the report that was done by neuropsychiatry.

In order for me to assist you and put you in touch with the right people, I will need to get some more details from you.

Can I please ask that you contact me either by email on kate.macdonald@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or by calling me directly on 01292 513607?

I look forward to hearing from you Billya1003.

Kind regards

Kate
