"Aug 2007 first visit. The speed ..."

About: Bristol Eye Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Aug 2007 first visit. The speed and efficiency of A&E on my referral from my optician was excellent. Saw doctor at 6pm and was offered corrective action that evening if I felt up to it. Was back at 9.30am the next day, and upto mid February went for 11 appointments for either checks or further treatment. All staff are welcoming, one nurse has done my "first checks and drops" so many times now we have a chat about shopping/weather as well. You learn with regular visits how the clinics work, and earlier appointments in the morning or afternoon will mean you are there less time. It's nice to be asked about the experience of laser treatment by the doctors and as I prefer that the room is lit rather than dark they have all been amenable to this. Thanks for the service.

What could be improved

Usual issues about finding parking spaces nearby, a particular problem last December. The use of hand-gel for patients/visitors wasn't apparent until my visits in 2008 but is a welcome addition to the process.
