"Childrens medical care"

About: St Mary's Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a carer),

My little son, age 3 1/2 spent a couple of days in Acorn Ward, St Mary's hospital Manchester. Excellent medical care, but the experience of being a parent on the ward could have been better. Pleased to say that the hospital now seem happy to have parents stay on the ward, but there is little information about how you are supposed to manage. A booklet of useful information to draw your attention to the parent's room, special arrangements to reduce car parking fees and so on would make life easier as most parents spend their time in the room with their child, not wandering about exploring.

There is a good play room, but it shuts at the weekend.

On children's wards you get free TV from Patient line, but it turns off at 9pm, leaving any parent staying overnight very bored.
