"Fracture Clinic - Post Operative Review"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

Further to my earlier review, dated 28th August, I had big toe fusion surgery at Burnley General Hospital on 17th January 2014. Yesterday I met with my Consultant, to discuss the outcome. Happily the result is positive and I look forward to a full recovery. Having in the past been unfortunate enough to require 3 surgical procedures, I feel qualified enough to comment on my experience on this occasion. From start to finish the quality of care and attention to detail has been first class. This applies to all the staff at both RBH & BGH hospitals who were responsible for all aspects of my wellbeing. From my consultant though to the staff on the ward at BGH & the staff on the Fracture Clinic at RBH, all succeeded in making my experience as stress free as possible. This is, in my view, important for people undergoing surgery. This was not the case for my previous surgical procedures which were, incidently, carried out having the 'benefit' of private health medical care. Well done to everyone involved and thank you. Ps Not happy to finish on a negative note but RBH please try and sort out the traffic chaos during afternoon visiting times. This must have a negative impact on people arriving on time for appointments!
