"Poor customer care / service"

About: Palmer Community Hospital

Took my 15 month old daughter as unable to get appointment with GP. Visited at 2pm and was advised by receptionist that there was 8 people in front so would make an appointment for 3.10pm. Eventually got to see doctor at 4pm after waiting 2 hours at the centre only to receive a load of abuse from the doctor because I 'should have went to the GP'. Explained that I was unable to get an appointment however doctor was very argumentative, insisting that I would have been able to get one. She was extremely abrupt and had no regard for customer care. After leaving the centre I was very upset and subjected to tears. Very reluctant to use this centre again.

I am really sorry to hear about your experience when you visited the Walk-in Centre at Palmer Community Hospital. Whilst South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust own the hospital building, the actual service you visited is run by Northern Doctors and is not in any way related to our organisation. We will make every effort to ensure your comments are forwarded to Northern Doctors in order that they are aware of your experience. Kind regards Lorraine B Lambert Chief Executive
