"Knee operation"

About: Frenchay Hospital

Needed an emergency knee operation following a fractured patella playing rugby. Could not fault the rapid response paramedic, ambulance crew or orthopaedic ward at Frenchay for the speed and professionalism shown. I particularly appreciated the flexibility shown to me on the eve which I broke my knee, where I was given the option of staying overnight or going home. I opted to go home and provisions were made to help with this. I was suprised when they were able to fit me in for an operation the following day which was a Sunday. Once again - thank you!

Dear Anonymous - please accept my apologies for not responding to your post before now, the automated alert system is not working as it should, which meant I was unaware your comments had been posted. I am pleased that you found your care in A&E and subsequent treatment to be so positive. It is nice to hear when the A&E service is appreciated when recently the press reports have focused on the long wait times across the NHS. The new Hospital at Southmead will be fully utilised to reinforce 7 days a week working in support of patients. I hope that you continue to feel better and that your knee is fully recovered very soon. Kind regards - Steve Sykes Advice and Complaints Team
