"Nightmare visit to A and E"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

Met elderly relative there at about 6.30 He had suffered a fall 4 ambulance arrivals were waiting to discharge their patients. We waited a good 30 minutes before our uncle was shoved onto a corridor in the bed He was in and then left there for 4 hours. Only once did a nurse approach us to s ask what had happened. She told us there were 4 people before us. We asked again after about an hour and they told us 3 people before us. There were lots of staff milling around doing nothing much. They were waiting for beds and transport to get rid of some patients before dealing with others. By now uncle had laid on a trolley in the corridor for 4 hours. Other elderly patients were bleeding, distressed and the situation continued to get worse. Uncle is 84 next week! He wasn't even offered a sip of water' Absolutely disgraceful!
