"QE11 phlebotomy unit WGC"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

Having regularly attended the phlebotomy unit over the past 4 years, for specifically timed, fasting blood tests, unfortunately the experience has often been unsatisfactory. Busy unit is very cramped Queues often overspill to outside Reception provides no confidentiality Short of staff Long waits though arrive in good time Have recently discovered another option, although less convenient, which is a complete contrast in comparison. No problem as blood test was taken on time as requested on request form by specialist. Hope that the new QE11 hospital will provide a more suitable environment in the future.

Thanks for your feedback, which you also sent to us via another route. This has been shared with the Trust's phelbotomy team, who will be in contact with you directly on the important matters you raise. We are confident that the long-standing challenges facing the QEII service will be resolved once the new £35 million New QEII Hospital opens in Spring next year.
