I was admitted to the Chesterman wing of the NGH for an operation to repair my Mitral valve. From my initial arrival on the ward to leaving, the staff (in particular the staff nurses assigned to look after me) were absolutely brilliant. The 1 to 1 care in CICU was fantastic and then when I was sent down to Chesterman 4 the care was equally fantastic. The nursing staff were efficient, helpful, courteous but above all friendly, fun and approachable they really made you feel safe and upbeat, which can be difficult when as a patient you are in pain and all you want to do is go home. I cannot really put into words how everyone helped me, but hopefully the above will go some way to explaining.
"Brilliant staff"
