"Excellent treatment from both ..."

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

(as a relative),

What I liked

Excellent treatment from both nursing and medical staff on MAU.

What could be improved

Cleanliness, the ward area was untidy and the bedside locker was full of rubbish, rolled cigarettes and even sausages from the previous occupier showing that it obviously hadn't been cleaned between patients.

That being said, when I informed the staff on the ward the locker was cleaned immediately and they apologised - hopefully it was a one off ommitance.

Also, the bay which I was visiting was mixed gender, having worked in other trusts I was amazed this practice went on and my grandmother, the patient, was incredibly uncomfortable sharing a bay with men and was reluctant to undress.

Anything else?

The doctor who treated my grandmother was very polite and very thorough with his examinations - unfortunately I dont know his name to mention him.

The nursing staff on MAU were all polite and helpful and my grandmother stated she was very pleased with care they gave her.
