I attended A and E on Sunday and from the moment I arrived the level of care I received was exemplary. I was taken through immediately and, after some tests, I was admitted and on a ward within a couple of hours. I had surgery the next day. The staff in A and E were wonderful and very efficient! For most of my stay I was on Paterson which was, once again (third visit), spotlessly clean and I was so well looked after. The nursing staff were very reassuring and the cleaner always had a beaming smile for me. My surgical team were amazing and I felt so reassured to be in their hands. They answered my questions before I even asked them and the speed in which they moved me from A and E to theatre was impressive. Thank you so much, the staff made a potentially frightening and distressing time for me calm and manageable. Just one comment - but please don't let this detract from the above - I spent the first afternoon/evening on the Charles Pannett ward. I am unsure of the visiting guidelines but the patient opposite me had four visitors most of the time and the patient next to me had between five and eight visitors for much of the time. They had children running around, playing and singing. I am not normally a grump or a killjoy but I felt a little too unwell to cope with it!
"Outstanding!"
