"My son was and still is in crisis displaying suicidal ideation"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as a parent/guardian),

My son and I on seperate occasions both contacted the Becklin Centre to request a call-back from a specific doctor. My son felt he needed a question answering and had felt comfortable speaking to this doctor previously. Almost 1 month later my son has still not received that call back, even after explaining the content of the enquiry to 2 different people there.

Dear In need,

It seems that both you and your son are in a very distressing situation. Whatever the circumstances it is clearly not acceptable for people to not return calls and I’d be happy to look into this for you both.

I would not wish to give specific advice over Patient Opinion but it seems that you and your son need help soon.

I’d like to suggest that you contact someone able to put you in touch with an individual or team able to help you both. This could either be:

The Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 0525790 or pals.lypft@nhs.net or

The Single Point of Access to our Leeds services on 0300 300 1485

If you wish, PALS can also pass on your details to me so that I can look into the situation in more depth.

I am sorry that you've had such difficulty getting help but hope that we can assist you both to find a resolution.

Yours,

Guy Brookes

Clinical Director
