"Discharged without any advice or details"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was admitted to East Surrey Hospital in between Christmas and New Year, I was in extreme pain and vomiting. I had to wait nearly 3 hours until I was given any pain relief. The doctors and Nurses treated me as if I was idiot and one of the nurses was rude to me and my worried family.

No one discussed my test results with me at any stage and all I was told is "we think its kidney stones". I was discharged 48 hrs later but given no advice on after care or any details relating to my condition.

If I ever need hospital care again I will insist on being taken elsewhere.

Dear 'KT1'

I am sorry to read about your experience, and would like to reassure you that this is not the typical reaction to our service and therefore I'd like to investigate what went wrong to result in such a terrible and upsetting experience for you. If you'd like to discuss this further, please can you contact me with your name and date of your visit, and you email address or telephone number. Thank you.
