I recently stayed for major surgery at this hospital and did not feel there was enogth nurses around on the ward after my surgery. i waited 4 hours in the recovery room for a bed to become avaliable, eventualy i was takern to cherry ward and put in a room on my own. i had numerous drips and a catheter in so was unable to get out of bed. when i needed a nurse i pressed the buzzer and it took 15 minutes for someone to come. im glad it wasnt something serious or god knows what would have happened during the day and night my catherter had to be emptied, a male nurse came in emptied it and poured it down the toilet, he did not evern flush the chain. as i was unable to get out of bed, i had to wait until morning for someone elseto pull the chain. during the night it seemed if you called a nurse it was a inconvece for them to come to you. in the morning another nurse emptied my carheter bag and spilt some on the floor, she made no attempt to clean it up and evern when a cleaner came in, she didnt wash the floor. this is suppose to be a clean hospital but certainly wasnt what i saw. on discharge i wasnt told how to look after my wound or nothing. i actualyfelt like it was a meat market thay get you in and throw you out as quick as possible .
