I would like to thank all the staff who took great care of my son, Shahbaan, whilst he was in hospital being treated for viral meningitis at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

From the time of his initial assessment right through to his recovery between 31st July and 6th August 2008, the Doctors, Nurses, Sisters, catering staff and portering staff were very caring and sensitive to his needs. The initial assessment was carried out by the doctor who was extremely professional and explained the whole process and the likely treatment Shahbaan would need. She respected and understood the trauma that my Son was suffering from. The Doctors and Nurses kept me well informed and updated throughout his treatment and reassured me of his full recovery.

All the family should like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors for the excellent care and treatment provided to Shahbaan, all too often Health professionals are unfairly criticised.

The patience, sensitivity, genuine concern and calming reassurance helped ease Shahbaan’s trauma and gave him full confidence to recover.

We will forever hold gratitude for the professional medical and care services provided.
