One has to wonder about the target 4 hour wait time for an A&E incident to be attended to!
Unfortunately I have had to accompany a friend to A&E department on three occasions at Calderdale Royal Hospital. Average time? Guess...3 hours 54 minutes... minimum time 3 hours 20 minutes, and these were not in a busy period.
As well as these times, name and address given at reception, then name and address given at Triage, then what, name and address at Nursing station... doesn't anyone understand effectiveness and efficiency?
Also noticed at the nursing station, ointment left on the shelf that clearly stated 'should be kept refrigerated' and this was in the middle of July with an outside temperature of 26 deg C.
"A&E 4 hour wait time target!!"
