Family member taken into A&E at 5.50pm seen my a nurse and 6.10pm then left in a cubical until half midnight without any contact from any staff member. A nurse then comes and starts to put a line in not explaining what this was for until asked. She thought a doctor had been in and told us what was happening but no this was not the case. So after explaining what was happening, she put the line in and we moved in to EAU, due to the nature of the admission someone needed to stay with the patient over night but the ward doctor refused for this to happen causing a seen at 1.30am, in the end the wards manager come and said this was ok but only one person allowed to stay. But called security to have the other two removed.!!! We asked for three sick bowls to be moved at 2 am and this was not done until 5.30 am at the same time the water requested at the same time was brought. The next morning we were told that the allowed person to stay had to leave, causing the patient to be stressed. Breakfast was severed with music on in the background and a morbid song came on and the staff said you would want to cruel into a corner and top yourself, listing to this wouldn't you? - Not taking in to consideration the reason patients could be on this ward! Patient care at its best here!! Later on this day the nurse "lost" the notes!! took blood's and "lost" these too so they had to re taken!! A total lack of care and attention! A male nurse came to take her obs, dropping the buff onto the dirty floor and not wiping this with a anti bacterial wipe! Very clean i think not!!! Later on this evening the visiting times ended, so we left to then about two hours later get a phone call to say that they are being completely ignored and ladies are screaming for help as they are in pain. Causing stress and upset to the patient. All in all i would say there is a serious issue with the nursing team on nights at this ward! A total disgrace!!!
