I cannot praise my MS nurse enough. His knowledge and expertise have helped me no end with coping with my diagnosis. After my diagnosis from the neurologist, the MS nurse made contact with me promptly and saw me within the week by creating an extra appointment slot. He was obviously under pressure and trying to cope with the long term absence of his colleague but despite this and I was surprised to learn just how many people with ms he is looking after, he done his utmost to answer my many questions, alleviate my concerns and provided a shoulder for me to cry on. In my opinion he has gone above and beyond what I expected. He has worked with me to initiate a treatment plan which I am just embarking on and can feel a difference already. He is a shining star in the dark basement of the hospital. I felt treated as an individual with kindness and compassion and this should not go unnoticed. I think people are too quick to judge NHS services and believe me I can be critical but however I can find no fault with Neurology and in particular the MS service. Keep up the hard work, you are a beacon of hope and inspiration and I will always be grateful for your care and support as well as your reassuring smile. :-)
