Blackpool Victoria has a new Multi Storey car park for patients. However this is a long walk for disabled people and the old car parks are now for staff parking only. Oh dear the staff have to park near the entrances to the hospital and the poor patients have to walk in the bad weather. That's if they can manage to walk that far. Yes there are a couple of disabled bays here and there but there should be more disabled parking near the entrance and staff parking should be on the top floor of the new multi storey. What is this world coming to? It's simple

Thank you for your feedback. The Trust's vision has always been to provide the best service to our patients and visitors. The construction of a dedicated main entrance with covered walkway and a car park which meets the demands of patients, visitors and staff formed part of this. In preparation for the opening of the new main entrance mid February we have also recruited over 60 new volunteers who will act as navigators to patients and visitors directing and if necessary transporting patients to their destination within the hospital. Following the introduction of the new parking arrangements there still remains the same provision of short stay, drop off and disabled spaces located at all other entrances of the hospital. The guidelines for the provision of disabled parking is 6% of the total number of parking spaces and I am pleased to advise that the Trust provides 11.87 % disabled parking spaces. Patient car parks are also located adjacent to the Emergency, Cardiac and Outpatients Departments. Whilst the new main entrance car park provides parking for patients, visitors and staff, parking for staff is allocated on the upper floors of the car park. Best Wishes
