About: Airedale General Hospital

mum is 90 every time she goes to airdale she ends up looking like she has dementia she has gone in with heat stroke fainting hip fracture and now broken wrist over the last few years, she is quite sane when she goes in but because they mess her medicine about and give her things she dosnt need when it has taken her own gp and the family to sort out her needs and it is so frustrating when she goes in to hospital we know she will look like she has dementia with in days when she is normaly alright, she is in now in there with a broken wrist and yes she is talking rubish and swearing which mum never does how scary to think how many of those ederly people are quite sane if they werent given so much crap, mum has been in only two days and if there is no change tomorrow I will ask the doctor in charge to put her back on what she was on when she was admitted.please look after your old folk they may be perfectly sane but modern drugs are just too strong for there old fragile bodys.

We find it distressing to read of your Mum's experience and urge you to talk to the senior sister on the ward if your Mum is still in hospital, or if you prefer, contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team on 01535 294019. Please make contact with us.
