"Nurses in general"

(as a staff member),

My concern is that the buck stops nowhere these days. The attitude of ward nurses reflects that of ward managers [once were called ward sisters] and is in my opinion very poor.

Allowing, even encouraging, nurses to believe that replying to patient's requests by saying 'We're too busy' is not acceptable.

An elderly neighbour recently asked me why they don't have 'proper' nurses any more as he hadn't seen one. He had been in a surgical ward, but said the people who came near him had only looked at his monitor or IV bag, so he didn't think they were 'proper' nurses. I am inclined to agree with him.
