"Mice"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

My grandmother is currently in medway hospital and is on Tennyson Ward and has reported mice running around the ward in the evenings. This is disgusting when she reported it to a staff member she was told that she was seeing things but the following morning another member of staff told her that they were aware of the mice and had reported it, So she clearly hadn't been seeing things….. This is disgusting to say the least, the patients are meant to be in hospital to get better and this is distressing my grandmother more so than being unwell… Its not good enough!

I am sorry to hear that your grandmother was dismissed as ‘seeing things’ after having reported the sighting of a mouse. I have discussed with the staff on the ward about how she felt her concerns were not taken seriously to ensure this does not happen again. We take patients’ concerns very seriously, and pest control have been monitoring the ward and will continue to do so to ensure that any mice present are removed. If you would like to contact me to discuss the matter further please call me (Amanda Gibson) on 01634 833121. Amanda Gibson, Clinical Nurse Lead, General Medicine & Sylvia Clark Housekeeping Manager
