"Facet Joint Injections in the neck"

January 2014: The third time I've been to the Pain Management Team for facet joint injections in my neck in the last 3.5 years. All the staff have been great all the way through. No, the injections are not pleasant, but neither are they painful. Afterwards I was very tired, but not bruised or sore at the injection sites. I supplement the injections with prescribed meds, regular osteopathy and personal training (the latter two being purchased and paid for by myself from private practitioners), and this has enabled me to maximimise the length of time between injections but, more importantly, to remain working full time and maintaining my financial independence: thank you. My only disappointment arises from initially being refused the most recent injections, because I was not given an opportunity to state my case before the decision was made. Thankfully my GP challenged the initial decision. The impact of not having the injections would cost the public purse much more than the cost of administering facet joint injections as I am very restricted by my condition in what I can and cannot do already. I can still work full time at the moment and the injections are a critical factor in this remaining the case.
