"try a different hospital if possible"

About: Hexham General Hospital

No privacy in administration area and receptionist very abrupt, I went at a very quiet time only one other person waiting told 3=4 hour wait. Doctor I got to see was not any help would not even offer anything for the pain. I did get to see the doctor within one hour, and was told to get my things and get out, I was not even able to walk. Hospital from hell. I would never allow any friend or family member to go to Hexham hospital. The uniform appears to have gone to their heads. I am disgusted in the way I was treat and I am formally complaining about my treatment. I have been unable to walk for over one month now. I had to wait outside in the cold and damp for a neighbour to collect me, I was unable to walk, stand up or sit down for pain. Nice to know this is what my taxes have paid for over the years. It is approx ten years since I last visited an A&E department. I am not somebody that goes for trivial matters.

Dear Sir/Madam I am so sorry that you have had this experience at Hexham Hospital . I was very concerned to learn that you left A&E still in pain and unable to walk. I am naturally disappointed to know that you would now never recommend Hexham Hospital after your experience – we wouldn’t want any of our patients feeling this way on leaving our care. It is always our absolute priority to provide our patients with the highest levels of care, including effective management of their pain. I am very sorry that this did not happen for you. Due the anonymous nature of this review, it is very difficult to respond in a personal way and act on the information you have provided. You will understand that I want to address the concerns you have raised with some urgency. I would really appreciate it if you could email me at Joanne.mackintosh@northumbria-healthcare.nhs.uk so that we are able to investigate. Best Wishes Jo
