About: Southend Hospital

Having attended the neurology department yesterday I was shocked by the treatment I received. I didn't see the Dr I was expecting and the Dr I did see was arrogant and not interested in really helping me. He spent most of my appointment time trying to convince me I didn't have arthritis which I have been treated for over the last 6 years because in his opinion 'he hasn't seen anyone with it for years'. This was not only a condition outside his area but also didn't help address the reason I was actually there. The only positive to come out of this appointment was that I was able to persuade him to sent me for an MRI. I will be requesting to see a different Dr for the follow up appointment.

I am truly sorry that you are disatisfied with you consultation in the Neurology department. if you contact our PALS team they will be able to assist you with seeing another doctor at your next appointment. They can be contacted on pals@southend.nhs.uk I will be passing your comments to the Neurology team and ask that they be discussed with all staff in the team.
