"So many problems with the antenatal clinic!"

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

I'm only half way through my pregnancy and am growing more and more concerned about the antenatal care I'm getting in this clinic. I'm not an over anxious mum, but this place just seems unable to accomplish basic tasks. The midwives I've seen have been fine, but why is there always a minimum 1 hour wait for an appointment? How is this acceptable practice? Someone must be doing something incorrectly! Trying to book an appointment is an absolute nightmare as well. How can it be reasonable to spend hours in a queue on a the phone to make a simple booking??! This is not ok. Does anyone ever answer this booking line? This is far below a basic standard one would expect, much less a good service. It makes me think I'm in some third world hospital. Please someone say this is not acceptable and something is being done about it! I'm beside myself with the low, low standards.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is very concerned to read of your antenatal experience at Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital. Your comments have been passed to the Director of Midwifery. I understand that the waiting times in the clinic have reduced over the past year with new management and leadership but this obviously continues to be a problem and waiting times are being reviewed as are call response times. We apologise for the unsatisfactory standard of care you have reported. We would value the opportunity to be able to speak with you and seek to ensure that we provide a better experience for the rest of your pregnancy. To facilitate this we hope you will contact our PALS service pals@imperial.nhs.uk
