I recently had my twenty week ultrasound. Over all I was pleased by the service. I have nothing but praise for the sonographer, she was well mannered, well spoken and clearly took pride in her work. My baby has a tendency to squirm during ultrasounds, when he moved so that the view of his heart was obscured she sent us out and told me to go for a walk and then come back to get a better view. I was very impressed that she would take the time to do the job properly, this completely defied the stereotype of a public sector employee. Unfortunately the desk staff were so stereotypical of the public sector that even I felt ashamed. The were rude, they seemed irate that they had to see both to their paper work and the patients, generally they lack the kind of respect that you would expect from receptionists. I appreciate that it is difficult to find well mannered people in peterborough who would be willing to take on that kind of work but this really is unacceptable. They;re not doing us (the patients) by being there, the wages are paid by taxpayers so they should treat the hard working public with a little respect.
