"Excellent hospital!"

My mother was a patient at Wansbeck Hospital and she received an excellent standard of care throughout her stay. She is 85 years old and was suffering from cancer of the colon. The attention, support and care she received in this hospital was second to none. Her consultants explained in great detail her options and subsequent operation. Being an elderly patient she had been worried that she might have been patronised or even ignored as she was too 'old' to undergo an operation. This could not have been further from the truth! At every stage of her care before and after the operation she was given so much time and consideration, The anaesthetist spent hours with her pre-op and her skill and dedication allowed the operation to go ahead. Her specialist nurse re-assured her time and time again and her jovial personality made the operation less frightening. I cannot thank the staff enough, from the cleaning staff, the porters and the nursing staff. You are all so professional and I am so grateful to you all!
