Following surgery to remove my gall bladder, I was a patient on ward E15 at the Queen's Medical Centre. In the first instance, I was pleased with the fact that I had a choice of hospitals to go to.
At the hospital, I found the staff to be very good. However, although the staff were fantastic, I felt very let down by the discharge procedure. The specialist nurse came to see me and said that he would return with more information, but he never did!
I had to return home, without proper care or attention, and fend for myself even though I was in no real state to do so.
