"Long wait for prescription upon discharge"

I was a patient on Simpson ward 2 at the Nottingham City hospital for the treatment of a gall bladder infection. I was most impressed with the expertise of the consultant.

However, having been told at 8am on my day of discharge that I would be leaving that morning, and having been asked to vacate my bed at 9am for another patient, I was then kept waiting until 4.45pm for my prescription from the Pharmacy. I have subsequently discovered that this is not unusual. It appears that the Pharmacy Services are inadequate and should be the subject of investigation and stringent performance targets.
