"Exemplary care"

About: Southampton General Hospital

My grandmother was admitted to F8 following a stroke. While she was still conscious, the nurses and health care assistants were compassionate, respectful, and took the trouble to hold her hand when she reached out for reassurance. It soon became clear she was not going to recover and she was moved to a side room. She spent the last few days of her life there - and the little gestures such as hair washing, regular turning, and giving her crisp, fresh sheets did not go unnoticed by our family. We are all extremely grateful she was treated with such incredible dignity. Thank you!
