"uninterested doctor"

About: New Cross Hospital

Because of working hours I find almost impossible to get to my GP so I visited A&E with chest pains. The reception and nursing staff were fantastic. Within 30 mins I was in a cubicle having an ECG and blood pressure tests. A short while later a nurse came to take a blood sample for tests. She explained it was to test for an enzyme released by the heart when in pain, she went on to explain if the reading was below 2 no problem, if over another test would be required in 6 hours. About an hour later the nurse came back to tell me the result was 2.3 so a further test needed to be taken in 6 hours she went on to say the Doctor would probably admit me to a ward to await further tests. About an hour later in came this man and said "Whats the story then" He did not introduce himself so as far as I was concerned he could have been the caretaker with a stethoscope around his neck. I gave him the benifit of the doubt and presumed he was a doctor and said I have chest pains. He asked me where, I told him, he checked me with his stethoscope and then spent the next 15 mins having a real go at me and giving me a real dressing down for going to A&E. He said nothing about the blood tests, did not explain why the results were higher than 2, if I should be concerned or worried, what was the cause of my chest pains, or what might be the cause, what I could do, if anything, about them. This man, if he is a doctor, needs a lesson in bedside manner, because I am still worried by these chest pains and he was no help to me whatsoever.
