"Total lack of communication"

About: Ipswich Hospital

Why can't the patient be told what is wrong with them following tests? Surely every patient is anxious to know, but the patient seems to be the last person to find out (if they manage it)....... Having to call the hospital to ask is hopeless as nobody ever, ever, calls back as they say they will Also why write only to the GP? The patient then has to take the GP's time trying to find out the results, which often require clarification as the GP doesn't fully understand as they are not an expert. Can't the patient be sent a letter, text, or e-mail explaining the tests outcome in lay terms? Has nobody in the NHS heard of the concept of 'unnecessary contact'? Forget the treatment, can't some basic thought into the admin be given. It would save time, costs and anxiety.....
