I was a patient on wards C24 & C25 at the Queen's Medical Centre for the treatment of acute epiglottitis. I was pleased that this life threatening disease was identified and treated quickly and effectively.
I did notice, however, that handwashing and other infection control procedures were not followed by all staff.
Also, I was angry about unnecessary noise on C24 & C25 at night from the nursing staff. More consideration should be shown to those trying to sleep at these times.
