"Short-Stay"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I was transferred from another Hospital to Ward 10 with a queried ectopic pregnancy, further tests on-going with regards to this. I was only on the ward for a few hours before being allowed to return home. However despite being placed on the Ward for only a short duration I found the staff to be wonderful with me, the Ward Staff were friendly and polite, but extremely professional throughout and certainly exceeded my expectations in terms of equality and diversity. I felt that the Ward Sister in particular that day (23/09/13) was extremely supportive and friendly and took the time to introduce herself the minute I entered the ward and before my discharge, which made me feel cared for.

Dear Madam Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of care from the maternity staff at Wansbeck Hospital. I understand how important it was for you to feel supported and cared for during what must have been an extremely worrying time for you and your family. At the times when we feel at our most vulnerable, it is extremely important that we feel we are been supported and cared for by staff who are both professional and compassionate. To know that that the care you received exceeded your expectations will mean such a lot to the whole team on ward 10 and I know the ward sister in particular will be thrilled to read your comments. Best Wishes Annie Annie Laverty - Director of Patient Experience
