"Complex foot surgery on Wensleydale ward."

Having previously read negative reports about the ward I was concerned re my admission for surgery. On admission I found the ward to be very clean and was made to feel " in safe hands" . The staff were very reassuring, professional and friendly. I was involved throughout with choices about my care. I was very impressed with the care afforded to me by my consultant and anaesthetist who made the whole procedure of going to theatre as stress free as possible. I was at all times treated in a dignified and holistic manner and never just a number in a bed. Following surgery I was in considerable pain and staff were very responsive and immediately offered pain relief and regularly monitored its effectiveness . Also 2 hourly visits were made by staff of all levels asking if I needed anything, this was very much appreciated. Meals were well prepared and appetising. Physio was limited but my stay did take in a weekend. Thank you to all staff involved in my care.
