"Convenient friendly local service"

About: East Riding Community Hospital

I have attended the Minor Injuries Unit twice. I was dealt with efficiently and promptly. It is a great relief to have this facility on the doorstep, especially the availability of X-ray (the radiographer I saw was lovely). It would be great if there could be some weekend opening. My only criticism relates to Reception, where the attitide which I had previously encountered when the unit was at the Westwood seems to have been carried into the new world - ie you are a bit of a nuisance asking to be seen and every effort is made to discourage you turning up if within an hour or so of closing. I also attend an Outpatients clinic where the experience is more mixed. The self service check-in invariably doesn't work and the Reception is often left un- staffed albeit the receptionist is chatting to colleagues at the back. Unfortunately the waiting times are also long though the consultation friendly and thoroug when you get to it!
