"MEAU / DIXON WARD"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

I would just like to say a big thank you both to MEAU and Dixon Ward after the treatment of my sister a few weeks ago. After calling an ambulance to my home to treat my sister she was admitted to MEAU with decompensated liver disease, due to alcohol. I was told she was 50/50 and the prognosis was not good at all. The nurses and doctors on MEAU were excellent and also the housekeepers who happily came round offering us tea and coffee to keep our spirits up. My sister was then transferred to Dixon Ward and her fine treatment continued. The staff on that ward were excellent, doctors and nurses alike and she had a great Consultant. Although my sister could be somewhat rude at times this did not seem to deter the staff from the splendid care she received whilst on the ward and I was at times embarrassed by her behaviour. The staff on the ward were always so attentive, even when very busy and I could see how stretched they were. A month on my sister is out of hospital and is doing very well, she has taken the advice from her Consultant and is on the mend. The staff on those wards will know who my sister is as she was the youngest on the ward at the time, 39 years old, to suffer this terrible addiction due to alcohol. I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you for provding her with expert care and enabling her on the road to recovery, we cannot thank you enough.

Michelle - what a moving story - I am so pleased your sister is on the mend and send our best wishes to you both. Thank you so much for leaving your feedback; I know the staff on both wards will be really pleased to read it.
