"No treatment received"

I went to the MRI in order to get an X-ray investigation of my heel, which might be either broken or just bruised with constant pain, as a result from a climbing accident. After waiting more than two hours I was sent to the walk-in centre where I was told that I would not receive an X-ray, because my situation was not acute. The nurse agreed that an X-ray would be the only way to find out if the heel is broken, but that would be the way the operate in the hospital. Why did the receptionist not told me the same at the beginning? And why did no one offer me an appointment for an X-ray? Completely unsatisfied with the "service" provided.
