"mixed feelings"

About: Princess Anne Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I had gone into labour and told my midwife and she said to go to hospital (princess ann southampton). i had arived and placed in a room with my partner having a hospital midwife coming in to check on me until my midwife arived.

i was looked after realy realy fantastic as my midwife was a comunity midwife and she was realy nice. i had my son with no problems but i found out that my son had spina bifida and talipes (club foot) feet. i was realy upset that they never picked up the club feet as it was very noticeable. the thing is i had five scans as they said i was overweight (if you can call a six foot 21 stone lady overweight) and needed the extra scan to make sure the baby is developing ok but they failed to pick up the talipes and the spina bifida.

nowadays you thought they would have picked it up so thats why i have mixed feelings about the nhs but not to my midwife as she was very helpful and a wounderful person. i hope i have her again when i have my next baby. a big thank you karen from sure start at southampton comunity midwives
