"laparoscopic cholecystectomy"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

The is a bright cheerful hospital and the staff seem to know each other well and work as a team. The nursing care I experienced was particularly good and and in general there is a very good atmosphere created by the staff, and a pretty relaxed view of visiting times (at least on the ward I was on). On the downside there is still a tendency for consultants to mete out information on a purely 'need to know' basis, this can be frustrating, and junior doctors don't seem to have time or inclination to read the patient notes properly which can lead to them offering clinical advice that is actually wrong for the patients particular circumstance, but this is by no means unique to this hospital! Despite some complications I experienced, the care was of a good standard and any additional tests that were thought useful were delivered in a very timely manner, and there was a decent level of involvement from the Consultant surgeon in the post-op care.
