"Infected biopsy wound"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

3 weeks after having a breast biopsy (at Huddersfield Royal) the biopsy site became very painful and was discharging pus. Visited the walk in centre as couldnt get an appointment at my GP that week, the nurse gave it a cursory look, stated 'it just looks inflamed' advised that in her opinion I didn't need antibiotics and put a dressing on it. When it got worse over the next week I visited my GP who took a swab and was found to be infected with Streptococcus Group B. 2 courses of antibiotics later and I still have a hole the size of a ten pence piece in my tissue. Waste of time visiting the walk in centre in my opinion.
