My brother and I feel that our father had exemplary care and attention in the George Earle stroke ward prior to his death. During the many hours we spent at his bedside, we took comfort and reassurance from the competent, compassionate and respectful treatment he received from all the staff - well beyond our expectations. We were phoned early in the morning, as requested, if there were any change in our father’s condition. We arrived at 8am and spent 7hrs in the ward before he passed away and were privileged to observe the teamwork and dedication of all the staff to all patients. Not only did they have sympathy and understanding with every patient in our section, they accomplished their tasks with good humour, compassion, and total regard for all patients’ dignity. As bereaved next of kin, we could not have been treated with more respect, sympathy and kindness. All the staff in George Earle Ward are a fantastic team who work to a supreme standard which we are sure could not be surpassed in any hospital, private or NHS.
