"Thoroughly let down by the NHS"

About: The Bradgate Mental Health Unit

After waiting months through NHS referrals and waiting lists, seeing a consultant psychiatrist finally booked in for The Bradgate Mental Health Unit. The Junior psychiatrist was polite patient and very professional. The consultant when he finally arrived after a long wait was in a hurry, made us feel rushed and did not care for finding out about the patient and simply wanted to be out the room. Hardly caring to introduce himself we felt discarded as he left the room dismissing us to another clinic after a brief two minute quiz repeating things which we had talked about in detail to the Junior psychiatrist and not giving us adequate time for questions to be raised.

Thank you for providing feedback and we are very sorry to hear that you are unhappy about your experience at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit. The attitude you describe is not what we would expect from any member of our teams at the unit. The majority of our staff strive always to meet our aims of delivering compassion, respect and quality but clearly you feel upset and we want to look into your concerns. In order to do this we will need more information about you, as well as when and where we provided care for you. We have a duty to protect your confidentiality and so the best way to get this information to us is by asking you to contact our customer services team. They will talk to you sympathetically and in confidence. They can take fuller details about your experience and, If it's not possible to resolve this your concerns for you straight away, they will log a complaint which will be fully investigated in the service concerned. You will receive a full response within 25 working days.
