"Improvements to parking facilities needed at QMC"

I was a patient at the Queen's Medical Centre in July of this year for a liver resection following a cancer diagnosis.

The medical staff were excellent in their communication. The nursing staff were, on the whole, caring and helpful. Also, the standard of cleanliness has much improved compared with my previous experience of it at the hospital.

The pre-operation waiting room was crowded and not very comfortable. Why were patients, who were scheduled for appointments later in the day, required to report at 7am? Also, some people still smoke on hospital grounds - the no-smoking policy should be enforced better.

I wrote "not applicable" beside the car parking rating, because my wife and I decided to use taxis and buses to get to the QMC site, since we know from previous experience that car parking is very difficult, and indeed your own guidance states that it is very limited. I would, therefore, suggest that car parking be improved (although the MediLink bus service from the Park & Ride site is excellent).
