"Disgusted and Annoyed"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

I went into the LRI for an ear operation and was left to make my own way from theater arrivals to x ray and back dressed in only a hospital gown. luckily my Daughter was there to give me a hand then after the operation i was sent home with an open wound and no painkillers the wound became infected and i have and to have it dressed on a daily basis by my own GP who was disgusted i had been sent home without a dressing on the wound. the infection has spread despite the best efforts off my GP and the nursing staff at the sugary and i am now on stronger antibiotics after having to have a swab taken. i have now been left with a weeping hole wear the operation took place.

Response from Leicester Royal Infirmary

Thankyou for sharing your story with us and I am extremely sorry to hear about your experience following an ENT procedure. To understand your experience and to ensure we can learn from it I would be very grateful if you would provide me with your details and I will thoroughly investigate. It is important that we learn from poor patient experience and speak with staff involved and where necessary , change the way we work. My email contact is dale.travis@uhl-tr.nhs.uk Kind regards Dale Travis CBU Manager
