"Very bad care on Keppel ward"

About: Rotherham Hospital

My father in law is on Keppel ward its just a nightmare today when we got there he was sat in a chair with just a nappy and a shirt on the floor was lots off urine his nappy was absolutely full my wife went to see the staff after 5 mins they came to change him then left did not mop the floor we then looked to see what he had eaten and again his book has not been filled in If any one has to put a relative in the hospital please think twice send them else were he has lost nearly 2 stone in 3 weeks went in walking and quite active he had a urine infection Now cannot walk he has very little work or rehabilitation they just leave him with a nappy on he asked to go to the toilet they then said you have a nappy on This is against his human rights they treat animals better in the zoo There never is any staff around to ask I just feel he will die if they don't change there ideas I am going to raise a complaint with cqc. As its the hospital from hell also contacting the press over this I do have photos of the neglect on the ward Just don't let a relative go in there

Dear Anonymous

We have brought your story across from NHS Choices so that it also appears on Patient Opinion. Due to an error in our software, I'm afraid this was severely delayed, so the team at Rotherham Hospital has only just seen your story now.

I do apologise for this - it is entirely our fault.

Dear Anonymous, thank you for your feedback via NHS Choices. We are sorry that we have not been able to respond to you sooner, as explained on the response from Patient Opinion; it has been due to technical issues which are out of our control.

We are very sorry to hear of your father’s experience of care at the Trust. We would really appreciate hearing from you to discuss your experience further. If you would be willing to do so, we would be grateful if you would contact our Deputy Chief Nurse, Anne Crompton on 01709 427096, who would be happy to investigate this on your behalf.

With best wishes,

Kerry
