"Appalling service by Podiatry"

I was originally referred to a podiatry clinic in 308a Hertford Road over a year ago by my GP, as I had painful bunions and an ingrown toenail that had been previously removed. I was told I could not be more than 10 minutes late as I would probably not be seen. I was kept waiting 15 minutes while the nurses were on Facebook (we could hear them through the door)! I was seen by a very nice nurse who said I needed to be referred to St Michael's and that I would receive an appointment very soon. I received nothing after a month and called St Michael's who told me that my appointment was for the next week (I never received a letter). I turned up to see the podiatrist and waited an hour. I was then told she was off sick and that someone had tried to contact me. Their records had not been updated, as they had an old number. I was given another appointment for 3 weeks later. When I arrived for the next appointment, I was again kept waiting for 45 minutes (bearing in mind that the I was told I could not arrive more than 10 minutes late for my appointment). The podiatrist looked at my bunions and told me she had seen worse (that was helpful). She then she would schedule me for nail surgery and would be seen within 3 weeks. She also told me that I would need to come back to see her in order to be fitted with insoles. I waited another month and heard nothing. I called St Michaels and my notes could not be found. The day surgery unit had not received any information about my surgery. I was told that I could go in to see the podiatrist that afternoon, which I did. Again I was kept waiting. The podiatrist didn't know why I had gone in. She also could not find my notes. She told me I did not need insoles!!?? She cut my ingrown toenail with very blunt clippers - which she did apologise for, but it didn't help the pain that she caused. I was told that I would receive an appointment within 3 weeks. I contacted St Michaels 3 weeks later and was told that I would have to wait at least 3 months and until after the summer holidays (beginning of September 2012). I received a letter on 11th January 2013 (the first I have received from St Michaels!) telling me that I had an appointment. I turned up on time and was seen almost on time (better than any other appointment!). I was seen by one of the surgical team who did not know why I was there as he did not have my notes!! He fitted me with insoles and told me that I would be seen within 3 months to see how I was getting on. In 4 days time it will be three months since I had that appointment - and no news. No news about the nail issue. I am truly appalled by the treatment I have received from the Podiatry Department, truly appalled.
