"Not pleasant but a bearable proceedure"

About: Euxton Hall Hospital

I was pertrified at the thought of having an endoscopy! However, from the receptionist to the medical team they were very professional and caring so first of all "thankyou "to all of them! I was very impressed at this speedy proceedure once in the theatre , as I`d had to wait a little longer than anticipated in the waiting room which didn`t help my nervousness. The doctor performed the investigation with ease and speed which helped lessen my anxiety. Anyone who has to go through having an endoscopy , I would recommend that they try to keep calm by taking deep breaths and close your eyes. It took about five minutes at the most and although it isn`t a pleasant experience it wasn`t as traumatic as I was expecting. I did n`t want to be sedated so I chose the numbing spray on the throat. The mindful doctor and nurses were brilliant supporting me throughout . I also had a biopsy which was painless. After wards, I was annoyed at myself for being so nervous and stressed beforehand! My advise would simply be - close your eyes, think of something nice and take deep breaths. Before you know it - it`s over with!
