"poor communication"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Staff need to communicate between themselves for starters. So often asked questions to be met with "I don't know" (and cant be bothered to find out!) Also when a patient asks for something, instead of just responding "I'm busy right now I'll be back/sort it later", actually make a note and get back to the patient. Too many times told "later" to be simply forgotten and ignored. Some very good staff but too many couldn't really care.

First of all we apologise unreservedly for falling short of the standards of care and communication we set. If you (or your relative) are still in hospital please ask to speak to the ward sister or ask for the duty matron to be contacted so they are aware of the issues you have experienced. If you are no longer at the hospital, or you don’t wish to do this, please contact PALS to let them know which ward this was so they can take it further You can call them on 020 8401 3210 or email TalkToUs@croydonhealth.nhs.uk
